The Franco-Namibian Cultural Centre (FNCC) in collaboration with the National Theatre of Namibia (NTN) and RMB Namibia, hereby announces the Windhoek performance of David Greilsammer, one of the most prestigious French pianists of his generation.

The Windhoek concert stems from a SADC tour which comprises of performances in Namibia and Angola, to offer high quality classical concerts and to present educational activities with youth in order to fulfil important artistic and social missions. Educational activities include masterclasses and workshops with music teachers and their young students.

Recognized as one of the most virtuosic and daring pianists and conductors of his generation, David Greilsammer is passionate about innovative projects, creation and bridging cultures. His solo recitals, always presenting eclectic, surprising and adventurous programs, have been performed across prestigious concert halls in the world. David Greilsammer’s latest album, Labyrinth, released by Naïve, has received more than twenty international awards and has been praised by the international press as "courageous," "visionary," and "amazing. His other recent albums, released by Sony Classical, have won numerous awards, including those from the New York Times, the Boston Globe, and the Sunday Times. Additionally, Greilsammer is acclaimed for his interpretations of Mozart's works, and has created a sensation in Paris with his marathon performance of the complete piano sonatas, and more recently with his conducting of all 27 Mozart concertos in nine consecutive concerts. As a Music and Artistic Director of the Geneva Camerata Orchestra, he has appeared as conductor and soloist with many of today's leading orchestras, including the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, the San Francisco Symphony, the Radio France Philharmonic, the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony, the Orchestra Verdi in Milan, the Hong Kong Philharmonic, the Israel Symphony Orchestra and the National Orchestra of Mexico.

Additionally, a masterclass for Namibian-based musicians will be held at The National Theatre of Namibia on 7th July from 10 am to 1pm.
