Running every Wednesday from 3 to 24 June 2026 at 6pm, this curated four-week programme showcases acclaimed animated films that highlight the artistic richness, storytelling power, and visual innovation of contemporary French animation. The series features films that appeal to both children and adults, from magical fairy tales to fantastical adventures and historical fables.

All films are screened in French with English subtitles.

Programme

3 June – Ernest et Célestine : Le Voyage en Charabie
Directed by Julien Chheng & Jean-Christophe Roger, Ernest the bear and Célestine the mouse journey to Ernest’s homeland to repair his violin, discovering a mysterious ban on music. Together, they restore harmony in a joyful celebration of friendship, creativity, and the power of music.

10 June – La Plus Précieuse des Marchandises
Directed by Michel Hazanavicius, this moving fable set during World War II tells of a woodcutter and his wife who find a baby thrown from a train and raise the child as their own, celebrating kindness, moral courage, and humanity.

17 June – Le Pharaon, le Sauvage et la Princesse
Directed by Michel Ocelot, creator of Kirikou, this anthology of animated tales spans cultures and eras—from ancient Egypt to fantastical kingdoms—celebrating bravery, love, and imagination.

24 June – Sirocco et le Royaume des Courants d’Air
Directed by Benoît Chieux, this magical fantasy adventure follows two sisters who enter a fantastical world through a secret portal, encountering mysterious creatures and navigating a kingdom shaped by wind and imagination.
