A fusion of Northern Namibian and Southern Angolan traditions and cultures, Formula Band, lead by Tulonga Wahengo, began their journey in 2005 under the genre Shambo but the band’s repertoire goes far beyond this proud heritage.

Having collaborated with artists from Congo and Zimbabwe, France, Soudan, Burkina Faso, Reunion Island and Angola, Formula Band has a sound that has travelled – to the Awesome Festival in Durban and at the Harare International Festival of Arts to name a few.

With two albums on the market, Shaa Mboka Rock (2006) and Melofrica (2016), these professionals always deliver: a surprise! At this edition of Acoustic Friday, Formula Band generously shares the stage with upcoming Reggae artist, Ras Ronaldo.
