ARTIST CALL – SOLARPUNK: STORIES OF SAND AND ENERGY

EUNIC Namibia is inviting a European visual artist to join an exciting artistic exchange, engaging in

workshops, mentorship, and co-creation sessions to explore Solarpunk as a speculative genre to

reimagine sustainable futures.

Solarpunk – Stories of Sand and Energy is a science-fiction project, using utopian speculative

architecture to envision Namibia’s future as a leader in renewable energy. Through collaboration

between European and Namibian artists, the project will develop fictional green cities and

regenerative landscapes, culminating in a traveling exhibition starting in Lüderitz, Namibia, and

ending in Windhoek.

Residency Details

2–3 week residency in Namibia (June –July 2025)

Fully funded: Travel, accommodation, artist fee

Collaboration with Namibian artists in workshops & creative sessions

Work showcased in a high-visibility traveling exhibition

Who Can Apply?

We are looking for a visual artist, illustrator, designer, or speculative architect with a passion for

Solarpunk and sustainability. Open to all creative formats that translate into exhibition centered

around visual works suited for gallery-style exhibition.
