Society Talk is a monthly series of discussions around social issues or concerns and how to improve them.

For July, Society Talk is delving into Cyber Security with Christophe Bellouard, French Regional Expert on Cyber Criminality.

Mr Bellouard takes us through a brief presentation on cyber-crime and cyber-security as a social issue facing every Internet user. Christophe, based in Pretoria, South Africa, is in Namibia for a week to give cyber crime/security training to the Namibian Police at the Windhoek Police Training College, giving his extensive knowledge on this subject to sensitize online users cyber-crime and how to improve security.

The presentation and discussion will centre on the nature, dangers, and forms of cyber crime, and the various forms that it takes. The conference will also include specialized recommendations on how parents and individuals from all walks of life can best sensitize themselves, their children and their teenagers to protect them online.  

In addition to advising on the safe and smart navigation of the Internet and social media, Mr. Bellouard will open up the floor to a question and answer segment.
