POACHING
Showcasing 20 unique paintings of anguished faces combined with sawed-off elephant tusks and rhino horns, Poaching is Vaughn Riekert’s first solo exhibition.
Riekert aims to portray a startling perspective of how the loss of endangered Namibian wildlife has both an emotional and generational effect on the population.
Namibian-born artist, Vaughn Riekert, trained in Windhoek and acquired an Art Diploma at the College of the Arts in 2017. Over the years, he has participated in group exhibitions, such as New Beginnings and The Amazing Namibian Woman. In his own work, he tends to focus on facial expressions and the emotions channeled through faces to the audience.
