Opera Night by French duet
The Ndjiki Ono duo, formed in 2019, comprises French pianist Kaoli Ono and French singer Cyrielle Ndjiki. Both graduates of the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris, they share a passion for showcasing piano-voice repertoire across various languages and styles, from French to English, and even German and Russian. Their repertoire includes works by Debussy, Duparc, Chausson, Wagner, Schubert, Rachmaninov, Britten, and contemporary composers like Heggie and Ono herself.
They are known for their interpretations of pieces traditionally performed by men, exhibiting strength and conviction. Winners of prestigious awards like the Academie Jaroussky and the Fondation Orsay Royaumont, they have performed at the Musée d'Orsay and recorded CDs, including "Muses éternelles," released in September 2020.
The duet will perform a recital of French opera and cabaret songs on Friday 8 March at the NTN at 7pm. Tickets (only on webtickets)
