On the occasion of the closing of the 10th anniversary of the film series “African Perspectives”, AfricAvenir and FNCC will jointly showcase one of Africa’s most outstanding filmmakers, Jean-Pierre Bekolo (Cameroon) and his latest Afrofuturistic SciFi feature film.
The movie takes place 150 years from now, in a time where African cities have grown into one big metropolis, in a world controlled by the immortals who have taken over our whole being. Wanita leaves home one morning, not knowing that her first prayer to her own ancestors has started her journey to the Dimsi, the earth you cannot see. Wanita is the only one who can save humanity, but she has trouble figuring out what her journey is all about, blinded by her other self: her desire to be someone else.
