This witty and fast-paced version of Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing is a testament to director Kenneth Branagh’s extensive creative abilities, as well as arguably one of the best Shakespeare adaptations ever filmed.
The cinematography accentuates the lush Tuscan landscape in which Hero (Kate Beckinsale) and her groom-to-be, Claudio (Robert Sean Leonard), team up with Claudio's commanding officer, Don Pedro (Denzel Washington), the week before their wedding to hatch a matchmaking scheme.
