FNCC at 25: A Week of Culture & Connection
The FNCC is a binational institution at the core of the bilateral relations between Namibia and France. And yes, we celebrate an entire week to show the different functions and purposes that the FNCC building offers. A whole week that feels like a gentle festival of everything FNCC has grown to be.
MONDAY, 1 December: Education Open House - A focus on the French Language and Exam Centre. FNCC is the official French language and French exam center in Namibia. FNCC is accredited by the French Ministry of Education. During the Open House we will offer French mini-classes, encounters with pour French language teachersand course presentations. Please also expect a freeFrench crêpes tasting from 3-6pm. Moreover we are offering a 25% off on the 1st French class session starting in January 2026,

MONDAY, 1 December: Visual arts - Opening of the French Teachers’ Photo Exhibition: “Teachers’ Words / Paroles de profs". This photo exhibitionshowcasing the daily school life of French language teachers in Namibia. By French photographerGuillaume Haurice, La Réunion Island / France at6pm

TUESDAY, 2 December: Cinema - French movie night - Screening of the iconic French movie “L’Ecume des jours” (Mood Indigo), a modern day tale by Michel Gondry (2013) featuring several well-known French actors like Audrey Tautou, Roman Duris, Omar Sy…. The film is based on the famous French novel “L’Ecume des jours” de Boris Viant (1946). It blends romance and comedy. The film is in French and will have English subtitles at 6-8pm

WEDNESDAY, 3 December: Public debate - Round-table discussion : “FNCC: Yesterday-Today-Tomorrow”.
The round table discussion includes distinguished Namibian and French personalities who have contributed to the development and prominence of the FNCC since its creation in 1991, the implementation of the FNCC building in December 2000, and its attractivity until now.
6-8pm - Free entry
Followed by a “pot d’amitié” (reception)
THURSDAY, 4 December: Performing arts (dance) – a “Conversational dance performance” with choreographer Marie Caroline Hominal (France/Switzerland) and her stage partner, Nelisiwe Xaba (South Africa); presentation of excerpts from the Hominal/Xaba choreography: a collaborative project of FNCC, UNAM, PRO HELVETIA and the Embassies of France & Switzerland.
6pm - Entry fee: N$50
Followed by a reception offered by the Swiss Embassy to South Africa, Lesotho and Namibia
FRIDAY, 5 December: Music - a special French Cabaret Night with Liz Ehlers, alias DJ Rise Elders,OYO Dance company, and invited artists and friends
7pm - Entry fee N$100, cash bar for food and drinks @LeRoof
