Get ready for an unforgettable cinematic experience with French Films on Campus! Join us for a week of remarkable screenings and special moments:

The French Institute of South Africa (IFAS), inspired by the success of the Festival Tournées in the US and its expertise in developing new audiences among young generations has decided to customise the festival format to engage with a selection of Universities on the continent. French Films on Campus is developed in partnership with the Cultural Services of the French Embassy in the United States, the French Institute in Paris and the Premiers Plans Festival.

 

The festival aims to bring French cinema to university audiences in South Africa, Botswana, Lesotho, Mozambique, Namibia, Swaziland, Zambia and Zimbabwe. They include films by emerging directors as well as films by respected and renowned figures of French cinema.

 

Film screening line-up:

Friday, 13th October, 5h30pm – Opening ceremony and red carpet, screening of film: We, Students! Followed by panel discussion.

 

Monday, 16th October, 6pm – Screening of film: Bye, bye morons! Followed by panel discussion.

 

Wednesday, 18th October, 7h15pm – Screening of film: Our Lady of the Nile, followed by panel discussion.

 

Friday, 20th October, 7h15pm – Closing ceremony and red carpet, screening of film: Casablanca Beats, followed by panel discussion.
