Acoustic Friday on a Wednesday with Marie Jay (Switzerland) and Ziia (Reunion Island, France)
At just 23 years old, Marie-Jay has already established herself as a promising voice on the Francophone music scene. With her debut EP Trottinette, she blends French pop and chanson with subtle electropop elements. Her delicate voice and introspective songwriting explore the small joys, frustrations, and everyday poetry of life. On stage, Marie-Jay creates an intimate and immersive atmosphere, inviting audiences into a warm, personal musical space.
Sharing the stage is Ziia, whose music draws from the rich cultural heritage of Réunion Island. Blending Afro-pop, soul, and Indian Ocean rhythms, and singing in Creole, French, and English, Ziia’s work explores themes of identity, femininity, resilience, and freedom. Her sound bridges ancestral rhythms and contemporary influences, resulting in performances known for their emotional depth and strong stage presence.
Together, Marie-Jay and Ziia offer audiences a unique musical dialogue—where intimate chanson meets vibrant island rhythms, and contemporary Francophone voices reflect the diversity and richness of today’s global music landscape.
